Summary: Novice Samuel, orphaned ward of the Church and the One State, is a student at Central College with a luminous career as a lawyer ahead of him. He may not have a family, but he has friends, a great mind, and a protective mentor in the form of Elder James Murphy. One day, a charismatic green-eyed foot-soldier breaks into the College on an act of petty theft – Sam reports him, and though uncomfortable at his treatment, puts it behind him and quashes his sinful attractions to the stranger. It works – until a Resistance plot to kidnap Samuel is narrowly thwarted and the soldier – now an Elite Guard – is assigned to protect him. As if that wasn't enough trouble, Sam begins to manifest abnormal abilities. Sam and his mysterious protector – who calls himself Dean –are soon on the run from both the State and the Resistance, making strange alliances, and ever pursued by the enigmatic General R Q Zachariah, Head of State Security, who seems to know more about their importance than either of them ever dreamed.

Not really spoilery, if the fact that the scene takes place in the middle of the story.
My scanner is kind of crappy and Touchs/alcohol markers generally don't do well once scanned. I mean, I look at the drawing in my hand and I'm happy, and I look at the digital version and cry tears of blood. So I had a little fun trying to even colors and contrasts with Photoshop. The first one is the one my author chose to add to their story, and it's actually the one who looks the closer to the paper version. I post the others one because I like them too ! ~
(I should also note that this scene doesn't take place in the morning at all, but in the evening. But I let the titles of my drawings come to me, and this one felt right, probably because there's a red sun and it's the title of Supernatural 3.06. Eh.)
Alas, it's only in viewing them in über size that you will really see all the details (and see that Dean's face is not that weird)

Notes:
This is the first BigBang I've ever done, and I don't really know what to say, which is quite shameful, except that I had fun.
But first, thanks a lot to my author who remained very nice when I said that I was late (I finished the drawing the day of posting) and for sharing this experience with me. I was so happy after reading the story, because it's really great and I had like, a gazillion (bazillion ?) ideas of drawing. But because I'm apparently the slowest drawer on earth, I only made one (and a banner out of it). But I know that if one day I don't know what to draw, there's plenty of fanart I want to do with this fic. (...does this last sentence sounds sexual ?) I have one drawing in particular in mind that I can't wait to do.
It felt very great to draw for someone else, it really gave me a push when I needed it (I aim to please). I'm slowly re-discovering my art and how I work and the pleasure of drawing and colouring. I'm pretty sure it's the bigger and more complete drawing I've donein my life and even if there's a lot of things I'm not happy how it turned out, I still feel accomplished, and somehow proud. It give me hope in myself and my capability to take something to it's end !

Very random art notes:
- I can't believe how many things I googled for reference ! From Jared Padalecki's face to boots and fire (yes, I googled a fire to be sure, and looks how it turned out. I don't even want to think about what it would have been without a reference. It's also the only thing I photoshop'ed to give it a little more life, because it was a very stiff fire).
- Scrubland/shrubland also gave me a hard time, so I finally gave it up and drew a botanical nightmare. I don't even know why there is so many greenery and not so many Sam and Dean. At first in the sketch of intention, it was supposed to give a sense of loneliness/greatness of the nature kinf of vibe, but I redimensionned everything in the sketch and now it just looks like the boys are giants. But whatever it was really fun to colour (not to draw) and to use my new green Touchs.
- Then final result turned to be better than I thought. Because I first draw a sketch then line it on another piece of paper (special for alcohol markers and such) there's some features lost in the paper translation (let's call it like that). At first I was decieved by how Dean's face turned where I had so much trouble getting it right on the sketch. But at the end, it was okay.
- As you can see the lights and shadows are like "whatever". I knew from the beginning that I don't have the skills (yet, I hope) to draw them accurately (firelights on them, etc) so I just kind of... drew it like if it was midday. Fortunately, human's mind adapts very easily.
